LahmaCino is a Turkish lahmacun and breakfast café on Holloway Road in Holloway, a short walk from Upper Holloway station. LahmaCino Holloway comes from a family business that opened its first lahmacun restaurant in London in 1992, and in 2019 took the name LahmaCino from the nickname of its founder, Ali Bey.
Lahmacun is the speciality: thin, crisp flatbread topped with spiced minced meat, rolled up with salad and lemon. The menu also covers pide, falafel and lamb dishes, small plates and desserts, with Turkish tea and coffee throughout the day.
Opening at 8am every day, it’s also a popular neighbourhood spot for a Turkish breakfast, and a good-value choice for families and casual lunches. With seating inside and out, it’s an easy place to stop for a quick lahmacun lunch or to linger over a long breakfast at the weekend.
Lahmacun is the house speciality; breakfast is the other reason to visit.
It’s a busy, friendly corner café with a simple, casual look, and seating both inside and out on Holloway Road. Prices are in the budget-to-moderate range, which makes it an easy choice for families.
There are vegetarian and vegan options, and halal options are listed. It’s open from 8am to 10pm every day, covering breakfast through to dinner. Reservations are accepted, although most people simply walk in. Lahmacun, pide and breakfast plates can all be ordered to eat in, and it’s a simple neighbourhood place rather than a formal restaurant, so it suits children and older relatives alike.
Monday to Sunday: 08:00–22:00. Hours can change on bank holidays, so check with the restaurant before you travel.
Upper Holloway station (Suffragette line, London Overground) is about a 7-minute walk, 600 metres away, and Archway (Northern line) is roughly 10 minutes away. Buses 17, 43, 263 and 271 run along Holloway Road with stops close by. Holloway Road station (Piccadilly line) is further south.
