E. Mono is a Turkish kebab restaurant on Kentish Town Road in Kentish Town, a few steps from the station and a long-standing local favourite. E. Mono Kentish Town takes its name from an old shop sign the owners uncovered during the refurbishment and decided to keep – it is still over the door.
The menu is a straightforward kebab-house line-up done carefully: lamb şiş, mixed kebab, döner and shawarma, plus charcoal-grilled sea bass and a few burgers. The restaurant says it was the first to use free-range chicken for its kebabs, and portions are large.
It works as well for a quick sit-down dinner as for a takeaway on the way home, and the room has grown into the shop next door, so there is more space to eat in than you might expect.
What to order at E. Mono
Go for the grill, or keep it simple with a wrap:

Atmosphere and good to know
Inside, E. Mono has a mosaic floor and bare brick walls, with seating spread across two shop fronts. It is casual and quick, and suits solo diners, friends and small groups as well as takeaway customers. It is open from midday to 11.30pm every day.
Halal status and alcohol aren’t stated on the website, so ask if either matters. Salads and sides are generous, though the menu is mostly meat-led. You can order online through the restaurant’s website, and delivery is available through Deliveroo.

Monday to Sunday: 12:00–23:30. Hours can change on bank holidays, so check with the restaurant before you travel.
How to get to E. Mono
Kentish Town station, on the Northern line (Edgware branch) and Thameslink, is about a two-minute walk away. Kentish Town West on the Overground’s Mildmay line is around seven minutes on foot. Buses 134, 214 and C2 stop on Kentish Town Road nearby.
