Durak Tantuni is a tiny, no-frills Turkish street-food shop on West Green Road that does one thing and does it extremely well: tantuni. It has been here for years and has a cult following among late-night eaters and anyone who has tasted tantuni in Turkey.
Tantuni is finely chopped lamb cooked on a flat griddle with spices, tomato and onion, then wrapped in thin flatbread. At Durak it is made fresh to order, and the shop stays open until 2am every night.
There is essentially one dish, so the choice is easy:
It is a quick, casual counter-and-tables spot, perfect for a fast lunch or a late-night meal. Several diners report that Durak Tantuni is cash only, so bring cash to be safe.
Monday to Sunday: 12:00–02:00. Hours can change on bank holidays, so check with the restaurant before you travel.
Durak Tantuni is at 390 West Green Road, London N15 3PX, a short walk from Turnpike Lane station (Piccadilly line) and from the southern end of Green Lanes. Buses run along West Green Road.
