Beyond the grill, the menu covers a good spread of hot and cold meze, clay-pot güveç, İskender, and fish of the day from the blackboard, including sea bass and mackerel over charcoal. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are clearly labelled, with a vegan plate and a vegetarian moussaka among them.
It suits a relaxed dinner for two, a meze-led evening with friends or a family meal, and there is a proper drinks list with Turkish wine, Efes and rakı.

Atmosphere and good to know
Petek is a cosy, neighbourhood restaurant that works for couples, families and groups, and walk-ins are welcome. The kitchen opens at 5.30pm on weekdays and from midday at weekends.
Alcohol is served, including wine by the glass or bottle, Efes, rakı and cocktails, with alcohol-free beer and mocktails too. The menu marks vegetarian and vegan dishes, and there are children’s portions. Halal status isn’t stated. Bookings are taken by email or phone, which is worth doing on Friday and Saturday nights.

Monday to Thursday: 17:30–22:30; Friday: 17:30–23:00; Saturday: 12:00–23:00; Sunday: 12:00–22:00. Hours can change on bank holidays, so check with the restaurant before you travel.
How to get to Petek
Finsbury Park station (Victoria and Piccadilly lines, plus Great Northern and Thameslink services) is about a seven-minute walk south along Stroud Green Road. Crouch Hill on the Overground’s Suffragette line is around ten minutes away. Buses W3 and W7 run along Stroud Green Road.
