Pasha Mangal Balham is a Turkish BBQ restaurant on Bedford Hill, a minute from the station. It was named Best Regional Kebab Restaurant at the 2023 British Kebab Awards and is a go-to in south-west London for charcoal-grilled şiş, döner and meze.

The menu is classic mangal cooking: lamb and chicken şiş grilled over coals and served with rice, salad, red cabbage and pickled chillies, alongside döner from the counter at the front. Meze such as houmous, falafel and baba ganoush make good starters or sides, there are vegetarian options, and Turkish desserts finish things off.

Behind the takeaway counter, the exposed-brick dining room is decorated with traditional Turkish ornaments. It suits a quick dinner after work, a relaxed meal with friends or a family table at the weekend.

Pasha Mangal is a casual, welcoming place with a takeaway counter at the front and an exposed-brick dining room behind, hung with traditional Turkish decorations. It is relaxed enough for a solo meal and roomy enough for friends and families.

Vegetarian options are available alongside the grills. The restaurant does not publish its alcohol or halal policy online, so ask when you visit if that matters to you. It is open daily from noon until 10:30pm (11pm on Fridays and Saturdays, 10pm on Sundays), and delivery is available through Deliveroo.

Monday to Thursday: 12:00–22:30; Friday to Saturday: 12:00–23:00; Sunday: 12:00–22:00. Hours can change on bank holidays, so check with the restaurant before you travel.

How to get to Pasha Mangal

Balham station (Northern line and Southern) is about a one-minute walk away at the bottom of Bedford Hill. Clapham South (Northern line) is around 12 minutes on foot. Buses 155, 249, 315 and 355 stop on Balham High Road and Balham Station Road nearby.
